The Jug series

It all started with a jug and bowl.

The shape and simple bold form appealed . I then set about experimenting with the shapes.

Image 1. The shapes overlap and almost huddle together.

Image 2. I chose to fragment or shatter the image and deconstruct to give a pure abstract painting with exactly the same colours and tones.

Image 3. I’ve partly reassembled the jugs almost combining two and leaving one slightly detached , the outsider so to speak.

Image 4. The various parts of the jugs overlap and are emptying their contents into a bowl. Coming full circle back to their true function yet unlike image 1 are seen pouring their contents.

All the paintings are the same size (60×60 cm). Oil on canvas. POA. Fine art prints available.
